Old Greenwich, CT - EHS Pilates

Here’s our plan for the weekend:

Saturday, Nov 9:
9-10am Group Mat Class! Thematic Mat Class
1 PMA CEC

10:30am-1:30pm
The Wonderful World of Chairs:  High Chair and Wunda Chair – Your Body’s Best Friends!

3 PMA CECs
You didn't know if you should invest in a High Chair, but you did...and you hardly use it.  Or maybe you haven't bought one and wonder if you ought to.  It's an amazing tool!  You deserve to learn how to use it to it's fullest for you and your clients - from Session 1 to Session 4001. Then there's the Wunda Chair, The Home Reformer.  So many exercises, it's almost overwhelming to pick and choose...and you pick the same 3 or 4 over and over again.  Let's open the doors to the Wonderful World of Chairs!  Let's work to understand the purpose of each exercise on each chair and make it come alive for you and your clients!

2:30-5:30pm
Rotated and Twisted Pelvises: It's simpler than you think!
3 PMA CECs
Whether from scoliosis or just life, everyone has a rotation of the pelvis. That rotation leads to many compensatory imbalances. Strong here, weak there...it's no joke.

The world has told you it's complicated. I am here to tell you that it's not. It's far easier to manage and rebalance than most realize. Let me teach you what you need to do and why.

Here's what you'll get from this workshop:

1 - You'll understand why pelvises rotate.
2 - You'll have a complete protocol of how to address these rotations on all apparatus.
3 - You'll have homework to give your clients so they can continue the process between sessions.

*This workshop is available to all teachers whether mat-only or all apparatus.

Sunday, November 10
9-10am Group Mat Class! Thematic Mat Class

1 PMA CEC

10:30am-1:30pm
Scoliosis: The Artistic Spine
3 PMA CECs
Oh, there are seemingly man different ways to work with scoliosis in the Pilates studio! It can be confusing! In this workshop, we will work with the latest research on scoliosis and how to help your clients in the most simple and straightforward manner. We must also consider our clients’ emotional connection to their scoliotic spine. By that I mean: they have always been told that they are “damaged goods”…I couldn’t disagree more. How we work physically and psychologically makes all the difference in helping our clients, strengthen, develop greater mobility, reduce pain and limit the progression of scoliosis!

Let’s play!

*This workshop is available to all teachers whether mat-only or all apparatus.

2:30-5:30pm
Barrels, Barrels and More Barrels!
3 PMA CECs
Why so many barrels?! How many barrels do we have in Pilates? A lot! They are small and flat, medium and round, spine corrector-ed with a funny step and even on top of a platform with a ladder! My goodness there are a lot of barrels in Pilates! However, they can get shoved under a Cadillac or piled in a corner and rarely used. Let’s discover the wonderful things that we can do on our barrels from the smallest to the largest ladder barrel and how to pick who does what on which!
