10:30am Biomechanics and Functional Anatomy (6 hours) - 6 NPCP CECs
While your physical intuition is an important asset in teaching Pilates, intuition is not enough. To sincerely take care of your clients, you must know the truth of how the body works.  Cue the reality, not the myths or mistakes. Being a confident teacher depends on it…demands it.  We’ll work to understand the best theories on biomechanics:  Biotensegrity and Biodynamics.  Then apply this information to your teaching and the affects on the entire body focused first on the pelvis and spine.  Knowing and understanding is the only way.
(There will be a 1 hour lunch break built into the workshop)

Sunday, December 18
9:00am-5:30pm

9am Thematic Mat Class - 1 NPCP CEC

10am Archival Baby Chair, Pedi Pull & Standing Exercises (3 hours) - 3 NPCP CECs
While Arm Springs on the Cadillac are wonderful, there are an extraordinary number of exercises Mr. Pilates created on many apparatus to strengthen the shoulder girdle and arms. So many that are remarkably accessible for you and your clients once you know them! Let’s work on The Arm Chair/Baby Chair, Ped-‐o-‐Pull and Standing Arm Springs...just to begin! Exercises you’ve likely never seen and soon shall never forget!

Lunch break (1 hour)

2:30pm Inversions and Upside Down Exercises (3 hours) - 3 NPCP CECs
From The Jackknife to The Candlestick Walkover, any exercise where pelvis is lifted is a solid challenge. Why is it easy for some and hard for others? How do we progress a client to be able to one day flip over the bars on the Trapeze Table? What does it really take? Do I have to practice handstands all of the time? Then why aren’t handstands part of the method as a whole? Let’s discover what it takes and work on the progressions to get there. It’s time that you and your clients get the benefit of Inversions and Upside Down Exercises!
